FOUNDING 12 SEASON 1 EPISODE 9
"Give, you don't know where you are going to meet the next person next time."

About

University gave Eko Rejoice something more valuable than a degree. It gave him perspective.

Like many students, he entered school with ambitions, expectations, and plans for how his university years would unfold. Over time, however, he realized that success is influenced not only by what you know but also by the people you surround yourself with and the choices you make every day.

Looking back, one of the biggest things he would change is being more intentional about relationships. He learned that friendships, collaborations, and associations have a powerful influence on personal growth. The people around you can either accelerate your progress or quietly delay it.

His journey also taught him that growth does not happen automatically. It requires reflection. By paying attention to his own mistakes and observing the experiences of others, he gradually developed a deeper understanding of himself and the world around him.

As graduation approached, he came to appreciate the importance of balance. Academic success matters, but so do relationships, skills, experiences, and the ability to connect with people from different walks of life.

His story is ultimately about living intentionally and understanding that every choice contributes to the person you eventually become.

What Shaped Him

Lessons From His Journey

The people you spend time with influence the direction of your life.
Personal growth often begins with honest self-reflection.
Academics are important, but they should not be the only thing you develop.
It is never too late to start pursuing meaningful goals.

Advice To Younger Students

Be intentional about your friendships. Choose your circle wisely. Learn from your mistakes. Learn from the mistakes of others. Develop skills beyond the classroom. Network with people. Explore opportunities. Do not lock yourself into academics alone. And if you feel like you have missed opportunities, remember that it is never too late to begin again.

Memorable Quote

"Give, you don't know where you are going to meet the next person next time."

Why We Remember Him

Rejoice's story is preserved in the BTG archive because it reminds us that growth is rarely a solo journey.

While many students focus entirely on grades and certificates, his experience highlights the importance of relationships, generosity, and intentional living.

His story teaches future students that success is not simply about working hard. It is also about building the right relationships, learning from experiences, and creating balance across different areas of life.

Most importantly, his journey reminds us that growth remains possible for anyone willing to make better choices today than they made yesterday.
